A beautiful mess

After returning home from school, I took one of those useless kind of naps for a couple hours. I couldn't really sleep, and yet I wasn't able to function, so I was sprawled out on the sofa zoning in and out. I think my body just decided to let out because I had been so tense the past couple of days.

Anyways, its been so long since my last cross-stitching update. When September comes, I'm gonna stop cross-stitching cold-turkey style. Reason being I'm going back to school. Fortunately, I draw with a lot of embroidery, so I won't be totally deprived.
This is the lastest of the projects:

Multiplication table

Helen Bell's Multiplication Table

The instant I saw this, I just knew I had to get it. So I got it and I started! I made some adjustments to the placement of the numbers and I also made a couple mistakes on the grid so I need to rip that out.

I'm feeling 홍경민 (Hong Kyung Min) Tonight. hahahahahahha! Everyone starts cracking up when I rock out with this song. I wonder why :P

"아름다운 그녀가 어어어 어어어~
나에게로 다가와
흔들리는 머릿결 어어어 어어어
나의 숨이 멋는다"
(from 홍경민의 Tonight)

You're really good in cross-stitching. Don't stop! I tried cross stitching before. I bought this cross-stitching kit and there were directions on how to cross stitch Nemo.
It was so hard. I couldn't even finish the first step. The directions were so complicated. I didn't understand anything. I just ended up stitching up my pillow. Orange thread on a navy blue pillow. I didn't do a good job stitching up my pillow either.

I've just started photography myself. I bought myself a DSLR this past February (a birthday present for myself,). The whole first half of this year was really stressful for me. I needed to do something. I needed a hobby where it would force me to go outside.
I don't know what advice to give you. The advice I keep hearing is this: Keep shooting.
By the way, what camera do you have?

I've recently started to listen to 홍경민. I don't really listen to his "club-style" music, but his ballads are good. I recently discovered the song 감사 by him. It's such a good song. Apparently, it's an OST for this drama called New Heart. I haven't watched that. Did you watch that video where he impersonated eight people? Amazing.

So, you're starting school again. Are you excited? Did this summer go by fast for you?
This summer felt like an eternity. Usually, my summers go by like it never happened. I guess it's different when you work. Summer is just the same as autumn. I just can't wait until summer passes by. I can't stand the heat.

Do you have Facebook? That's kind of a dumb question because almost everyone has Facebook. What's your full name? Let's be friends on Facebook! My full name is Daniel Jinsub Lee. You can search my name.
I'm trying to do something different. I realized that I'm so bad in keeping in touch and meeting new people. I can't be like this. I'm trying to meet new people, make friends, and expand my "network." I've joined a lot of "social-network" sites (no, not dating websites like Imatch.com or Eharmony.com. That's what my friend thought). I've joined a bunch of groups like Korean-American groups, Christian ministry groups, business networking groups, etc. You just go out to the city and just meet new people.
I feel like it's going to be a little tough because I'm a shy and quiet person. But I think I'll be okay. I'm the type of person that'll just do it without questioning myself. I guess that's a good thing.

When does school start for you? Are you ready? Haha.
I hope you enjoy the last bit of summer! Take care!

Lovely stitching!! I agree, don't stop! You need a creative outlet when you're in school, I think.

You know I really respect that you don't do Facebook. Some people are REALLY addicted to it. I'm not kidding. I've been doing it recently because a lot of my old friends have been contacting me through Facebook. It's okay to do it here and there, I think.

My parents pressure me as well. I know how you feel. Just work hard, and I'm sure you're parents will start supporting you instead of pressuring you. I hope your job hunt goes well. You should start looking now! Hopefully the economy will be in better shape by then.

I do some photoshop. Not always though. Sometimes, the pictures come out well that I don't need to do any post-editing. Sometimes I go overboard and just make it look so fake. It's like makeup. Too much makeup can actually be worse. 썡 얼굴 is the best sometimes. (I'm a guy. What do I know about makeup?!?).

If you take a lot of pictures, maybe investing in a DSLR won't be a bad idea. It can be a little pricey though. There are some bargains out there, though. I have a Nikon D200. It's a $900+ DSLR, but I bought it new for $500. I only have two lenses, but I got those for a good price. I usually buy off of the Internet because it's relatively cheaper and there are better deals. I always look for deals.

I always sing ballads at 노래방. I just like to sing ballads. It's been a while since I've been to a 노래방 though. It's like $35/hour here! That's ridiculous. I don't think it's worth paying that much. I used to go to 노래방 almost everyday when I was in Korea. It's like $10/hour. They even give you a free hour. Not in New York though. Nope.

Yes, I got a new job. I actually went in today to talk and fill out the forms. I don't start work until I take and pass this licensing exam. I have two-three weeks to study. I'm not a good test-taker. It shouldn't be too hard though. But I still don't want to underestimate it. You never know what questions you'll get!!
I'm excited to work. I'm also kind of scared, too. It's going to be tough. But I think I can handle it. I don't want to just back away just because I THINK is going to be tough. I'm just going to try and see. I think I'll be fine.

How many more days/weeks until school? Enjoy the last bit of summer!
Have a great weekend!
Take care.
